Happy St. Patrick's Day. In honor of this very green inspired day, we have an extra giveaway for you mamas.
The latest Veggie Tales' video is out -
VeggieTales Pistachio: The Little Boy That Woodn’t. Pistachio is a creative parody of the beloved story of
Pinocchio, and teaches a timely lesson on listening to parents (ahem) and the importance of family.
Pistachio stars Larry the Cucumber as a toymaker named Gelato, the assistant Cricket, Junior Asparagus as Pistachio and many other Veggie favorites.
If you are wondering where the correlation is to St. Patrick's Day and Veggie Tales - well, Pistachio is green.
If you are looking for some great Easter basket gift ideas, check out
these fab bundles available from Big Idea Entertainment.
Your kids are going to love it, so enter to win!
We will be choosing 2 winners, who will receive their very own copy of Pistachio.
To be entered to win, please leave us a comment answering the following question:

Maybe a 6? We're a work in progress.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I are big pushers of "obey right away, all the way, with a happy heart"
We have two boys and they are always competing. We like to use this to our advantage:
"Wow, I like the way ____ obeyed so quickly when Mommy asked him to clean up his toys."
Gets the other one thinking...

ReplyDeleteHmm.
ReplyDeleteOf my kids, I would give two around an 8.
One around a 6.
One about a 4.
And one a laugh. A rueful one.
I would say since mine is a 2yr old todder that it ranks at a 5 but he is pretty good at doing what I ask of him after the 2 or 3 time.

Depends on the child...
ReplyDeletemy oldest does it after maybe the 1st or second,
the next oldest (4) it takes 5-6 times, she is our stubborn one.
The next one (2) maybe 2-3 times. Most of the time it's because they couldn't hear me the first time I said it lol.
Follower.
ReplyDeleteI would say a 5. That's a safe number. Sometimes it happens. Sometimes it doesn't...
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower. :)
ReplyDeleteOH let's see, probably a 5. Half the time??

For the grandkids about a 4 for our youngest grandson and an 8 or 9 for the older ones. They're pretty good - most of the time.

I think about a 5. If the TV is on, I may or may not get an answer if it the TV is off, she will respond right away.
ReplyDeletesafety_chick@hotmail.com
They're supposed to do that?!?! I'm kidding - a little. I'd say my kids are about a 3. We're working on respect and paying attention to Mom around here...
ReplyDeletecrystalarcand (at) gmail (dot) com
about half the time hence a 5
ReplyDeletemverno@roadrunner.com
I'd say usually a 6 or so....although that can go either way!
ReplyDeleteMy 2 yr old son is probably a 7, he does really good, but a lot of times he is trying to tell us/show us something so he doesn't listen to us. Once he hears you then he seems to do it right away... most of the time ;)

ReplyDeletesign me up
ReplyDeleteI'd Say 5. It is an ongoing battle. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeletemogrill@comcast.net
hmmmm I'd give one of the twins a 4 and the other a 6... so an average of 5? lol does it count when the OTHER one respond even though I'm speaking with her sister???? (they're 2 lol)
ReplyDeleteI would say a 5. Half the time they hear me and half the time act like they don't hear me.
ReplyDeletehouseholdcents @ gmail.com
8 My toddler is pretty good about it as long as she understands what I am asking!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
5 it really just depends on the day.
ReplyDeleteI would say about an 8 or 9. They know if they ignore me, I will ignore their request as well. Treat others as you want to be treated is the golden rule around here.
ReplyDeleteA little better than half the time probably. When I was intently teaching this skill I started a "first time" jar. When any of our sons completed a particular request the first time they were asked, we'd reward them with a pick from the jar.. but you couldn't pick if you asked for the jar... that would defeat the purpose. The purpose- a little tangible reward for practicing an important life skill.
ReplyDeleteProbably 5. It just depends on my daughter's mood. Sometimes she's great, sometimes she completely ignores me.

I'd say it's about a 7. The usually know that their life is much easier when they get their stuff done!
ReplyDeleteI'd say 5. They listen about half the time.
ReplyDeleteIt depends, my oldest is 21 and he thinks I don't know anything, lol. My 16 yr. old pretends to listen, and does or says what he thinks I want him to when he's in front of me. My tween listens every time still (she's 11). And the toddler is still a sweet little guy who adores mom and dad and all that we say. :)
ReplyDeletemsurosey@yahoo.com
Hmm, I think about a 6, they are getting better.
ReplyDeleteIf 10 is high I would say he is about a 7. My son is almost six and this is something we have been working on. Funny though it always seems the times he chooses to not listen is when I am in a hurry.
ReplyDeletecouponsiwant(at)verizon(dot)net
I would give a 9 to my granddaughter, a higher score than her mother would have gotten, but she is not easily distracted and is also aware of what is going on around her. A honey of a kid.
ReplyDeleteFor my 5 year old I would give a 6 and for my 3 year old I would give a 7. They are both great little boys though and always try their hardest.
ReplyDeleteWith 10 being the best?
ReplyDeleteI give an 8 to my daughter (5 y/o). One of my twin boys (7 y/o) give a 6 and my other I'd say it depends on the day, but anywhere from 4-8.
They are good kids, but they have selective hearing at times. ;)
THANKS! alisonad23 at gmail dot com
I probably listen and respond the first time at about a 5, or 50% of the time.
