Piggy Paint was developed after one mama discovered that the nail polish she was using on her daughters' fingers and toes would eat through a foam plate. Kind of scary when you think about your kids inevitably putting their fingers into their mouths. Piggy Paint is as "natural as mud", is water-based, and free of formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, biphenyl A, ethyl acetate and acetone... and made in the USA! We are big fans of the nail polish and nail polish remover.
This week we are giving away a $15 gift certificate for Piggy Paint products.
To be entered, please answer the following question:
"At what age did you (or will you) let your little girl start wearing nail polish?"

Love the idea of piggy polish! My little 5 year old diva wants her nails painted all the time! She loves the entire spa experience- has even done a mommy and me nail do at a local spa with me!! Wow! What fun:-
ReplyDeleteWe were painted all last summer, so 4 and 2. Although I started to veto fingers and only painted toes. With one nail biter and one thumb sucker the finger polish had to go.
ReplyDeleteI was against letting my daughter wear nail polish when I started hearing how toxic it usually is... but then we actually were able to try some Piggy Paint and now I'm all for it! So she was 3 and loved seeing her fingernails and toenails looking pretty like mommy's.

I will probably let my daughter start to wear nail polish when she's around the 3 year stage. I think she would love it, and what a great idea to make it safe for kids!

ReplyDeleteI actually wasn't going to let my daughter paint her nails till like 5, but the girls bit and bit and BIT her nails. So I tried to use that as a bribe. Didn't work. So then I thought, I'll paint your nails and if you bite it off maybe you'll be sad and won't do it. Low and behold, she hasn't bit her nails for about 3 months...and I paint them just about every other day!

ReplyDeleteMy daughter is 2 1/2 and we haven't painted toes yet but I thought this summer would be the perfect time.

ReplyDeleteI painted my daughter's toenails the first time when she was 3 months old. And we paint them fairly regularly. But her fingernails are another story - simply because I don't want it going in her mouth! We would love to try this!
ReplyDeleteI'm already a follower. :)
ReplyDeleteMy oldest daughter will be 2 next month, my second daughter is 2 months. I would love to put nail polish on either one if it was this Piggy Paint! I wouldn't want to use the regular stuff but this is a great idea!!
ReplyDeleteWe starting painting nails around age 2. Though it never really stayed on for very long. :)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter was 3 when we started painting nails, though my mil wanted to paint them from the day she was born!

ReplyDeleteI subscribe to the Mama Memo, too.
ReplyDeleteI let both my girls wear polish as soon as they'd sit still long enough to wear it. :) They were about 12 months old and have loved polish ever since. They think they are so fancy with it on!

ReplyDeleteMy girl got to get her nails painted at a friends bday party when she was 2. She's never asked again. I don't really think painting your nails is a big deal or something that needs to be saved for a certain age. It's cute and fun. The Piggy Paints are great! Thanks for the give-a-way :)

ReplyDeleteMy sister in law recently painted my daughter's nails for the first time and she loved it. She's 2. I won't be painting her nails on a regular basis or anything but I think it's a good special activity to do with her aunts!

ReplyDeletei never painted my daughters nails.
ReplyDeleteI started letting both my 3-year-old and 6-year-old wear nail polish at the same age, when we were trying to get my 6-year-old to have extra incentive to stop sucking her thumb (ooh, look at the pretty fingernails!). Unfortunately it didn't work. Oh, well, the fingernails still look pretty!

We love getting our toesies painted. My daughter and I get pedicures a few times a year. She is 8 and she LOVES it. We also do it at home. Thanks for the chance.

I'm always on the lookout for more natural based nail polish...thanks for posting this! Our daughter loves to have her toe nails painted as a special treat to do with mommy (she just turned 3). Thanks for the chance to win this!! tami

ReplyDeleteMy daughter doesn't turn 3 until this summer but I was planning to start painting her nails then.

ReplyDeleteMy daughter is allowed to wear polish now at 3 years old. I use really girly colors and stuff like that - I wouldn't be okay with her wearing fire engine red or something like that! But things like nail polish and chapstick are pretty harmless to me. Thanks for the great giveaway!

I started wearing nail polish when I was 11. garrettsambo@aol.com
ReplyDeleteI would get this for my nieces (the good Lord blessed me with boys). If I had girls I would not let them do their own nails until they were 8 or 10 (although I am sure they would con me to paint theirs at a lot younger). Thank you

After birth with my twins.. they are identical and I was so afraid of confusing them at first that I painted their big toenails different colors.
ReplyDeleteI would have let her at 2 yrs old. lockwoodmerrie@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteOn her 2nd birthday we painted her toes. Soon after our pediatrician suggested we use fingernail paint as an incentive to stop sucking her thumb. We painted her fingernails and took it off the first time she put her thumb in her mouth. She was so devastated, she decided it wasn't worth the thumb sucking. I REALLY didn't think it would be that easy!
ReplyDeleteMy grandaughter started painting her own nails at seven. Dhe's become very creative at it.
