I apologize to anyone not local to a Trader Joe's. Truly - you have my deepest condolescenses. But for the local folks, I can't help sharing this quick-fix meal that whipped up in about 10 minutes, all with ingredients from Trader Joe's.
My shopping list included:
- organic chicken + apple sausage
- whole-wheat hotdog buns
- organic sweet potatoes
- orange juice
- brown sugar
- beets
- mandarin oranges
- feta cheese
- butter lettuce mix
I made hubby heat up the sausage on the grill. I cut up the beets and assembled the salad with the butter lettuce, beets, and oranges while the sweet potatoes microwaved for 7 minutes. Then I cut those in half and poured a mix of brown sugar and orange juice over the top. The kids assembled their sausage and buns, and I drizzled a little orange juice, agave, and olive oil onto the salad. Ten minutes, tops. I think this may be our favorite easy meal all summer long.

Oh..I love Trader Joes sounds like the perfect meal!

It sounds good to me, minus the beets. I can't abide beets in my house! The rest - delicious. Trader Joes...mmm...I might go today!
ReplyDeleteSounds great. Last week I threw together TJ's pre-made hamburger patties on W.W. buns (on the grill along with corn on the cob), with their frozen sweet potato fries on the side. Yum!
ReplyDeleteIf that is a lazy mom's dinner I don't know what you would call me? Another turkey sandwich Tanner?
ReplyDeleteI miss TJ's so much. when we go somewhere where there is one we stock up....When we came to CA to go to Disneyland we brought an extra suitcase to bring stuff home...Yum Yum!!
ReplyDeleteI am so incredibly Jealous! We used to live with a radius of 3 yes 3 Trader Joe's in Ca. 1 year
ReplyDeleteago we moved to Montana and now the closest TJ's is in Washington. I have been shamlessly writting to them begging them to open a store here as I beleive it would be incredibly profitable.. mainly just from my family alone..but sadly.. nothing. So enjoy your Trader Joes, don't take it for granted you are truly blessed!
wow, kristen, you've captured several of my favorites in one meal!! I love TJs and I will be trying this dinner out soon! :)
