Swimsuit Shopping

Mark and I are going on a cruise this weekend, for our 13th anniversary. I am determined to buy a new, cute swimsuit that I feel comfortable in. Here is the tally for the search so far:

Hours spent shopping: 8+

Money spent on babysitting so I can shop without kids underfoot: $45

Amount of money I'm willing to spend on the right suit: whatever it takes

Stores I have been in: 22

Miracle Suits that actually perform a miracle: 0

Stores that carried ONLY triangle-top bikinis: 9
(thanks for nothing, PacSun, Huntington Surf & Sport, Beach Bums, Roxie, Billabong, Tilly's, No Fear, Active R/S, and Ron Jon's. I will take my post-baby body and unlimited budget somewhere else )

Barthing suits I have tried on: 37

Suits I have purchased: 0

  1. Oh, I've been there! I actually went to the beach for a week (east coast) with no new suit because I gave up!

  2. I think bathing suit shopping is a form of torture! Have you tried J Crew? It is a bit pricey, but there are lots of styles...for pre-baby or post-baby bodies! Try the store or online. Good luck!!

  3. Ha! I had to laugh because I just got back from swimsuit shopping at a specialty swimsuit store. It's a little difficult to find a swimsuit for Mexico when you're 17 weeks preggo. Unless you were looking for a two piece, in the future you might google modbe clothing. I think you can only get stuff from a consultant, but they have some cute body covering styles that will probably flatter a post-baby body pretty well.
